Virgin PTFE (Teflon) is FDA approved and is often used in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic applications. Its low friction is perfect for industrial and mechanical components like bearings, gears, and slide plates.
PTFE (Teflon) materials come in a variety of fillers. Common fillers include glass fiber, carbon, graphite, molybdenum disulphide, metal oxides and various polymers. Each type of filler possesses different properties, appropriate for different applications and service conditions. Common to all filled PTFE materials are their improved resistance to wear and deformation.
